SUPPORT SERVICES – EDUCATIONAL WORK SHOPS

All the complementary counselling are available to people who have had a cancer diagnosis by appointment and on referral by a consultant or a nurse. Further details are available by contacting 061-485163. All therapies are free of charge.

Educational Workshops are held periodically throughout the year in the Cancer Information and Support Centre. The purpose of these workshops is to provide a forum in which the patients and their families/carers needs, questions and additional supports will be addressed. They take place in two sessions and cover Anatomy, Treatment options and nutritional information. Also covered are Body Image, Sexuality and Coping Skills. Speakers at these sessions include Nurse Specialists, Dietician and Social Worker.
