BECOME A VOLUNTEER
The Cancer Information & Support Centre, based in the grounds of the Cancer Centre at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Dooradoyle, Limerick provides information and support to patients with a cancer diagnosis and their families. The Centre is a meeting venue for cancer support groups in addition to offering complementary therapy sessions and counseling.
We are currently looking for volunteers to assist in the day to day running of the Centre. The main tasks include meeting and greeting patients and their families, providing a relaxed, informal atmosphere, supporting and listening to those who call to the Centre, helping them to arrange complementary therapy sessions and making tea/coffee.
We are also looking for trained and accredited complementary therapists, who are willing to volunteer and provide their services on a sessional basis. Therapists must provide their own professional insurance.
All volunteers will be subject to Garda Clearance, in accordance with HSE policy.
