The most recent purchase of the Foundation has been the Site Rite 5 machine which is now in use in the Cancer Section of the Mid-Western Regional Hospital.

Site Rite 5
The Site Rite 5 is an ultrasound machine used in central line placements including PICC insertions. The benefits of having the Site Rite 5 ultrasound machine for PICC insertions include giving a clear picture of the vessel being used, which can reduce the number of venepuncture attempts, therefore less trauma for the patient. It is a portable machine so it can be taken to the bedside.

Clinical investigation has shown an increase in successful insertions when using the Site Rite ultrasound machine for PICC placement.

Recently purchased by the Foundation were two UI22 Phillips Ultrasound machines. These are state of the art ultrasound machines capable of all aspects of advanced ultrasound imaging.
